It called and cried

Every human life on this planet, every single one, is priceless to me. The poor, the rich, the humble, the arrogant. All of them. I read of people getting shot or dying otherwise unnaturally in the newspaper, and it frustrates me like you can’t imagine. War is my worst nightmare. It’s ridiculous, primitive even, that people like you and me would kill each other on the whims of their superiors. It’s illogical and unreasonable. And I know, wars have freed people and achieved good in the past, but always at a cost. “A necessary sacrifice,” others would say. But it’s always people, like you and me, that die. If it was you or one of your loved ones, you wouldn’t think it necessary. So there has to be another way. No number of deaths like this is acceptable. I guess there’s always people that won’t follow this line of logic, and will kill anyway. But don’t kill them back. You’d be killing them out of hate for something you’re also capable of. You’d be hating yourself. And certainly don’t go killing their innocent families or people that live in their country. Be the better human. And that’s war. Why anyone would kill someone in a city or neighborhood, no matter how many issues you had with them, is beyond me. I’m not saying I’m incapable of hate. I kind of strive for that, but of course I feel hate sometimes. That just doesn’t surpass how much I value life. I value the life of my friends as much as I value the life of my so called “enemies.” I don’t consider anyone my enemy, but you get the idea.
